Terms of Use
Last updated October 11, 2026
These terms apply to the Hearnote app for iOS. By installing and using the app you agree to them and to Apple’s standard End User License Agreement.
License
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Hearnote on devices linked to your Apple ID, under Apple’s standard End User License Agreement (linked at the bottom of this page). These terms add to that agreement; they do not replace it.
You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it regardless of this agreement.
Free and Hearnote Pro
The free version includes recording, a weekly transcription allowance, quick-note summaries and TXT/Markdown export. Hearnote Pro unlocks unlimited transcription and the advanced features described in the app.
Hearnote Pro comes in three options:
- Yearly — an auto-renewing subscription, billed every year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
- Monthly — an auto-renewing subscription, billed every month.
- Lifetime — a one-time purchase that never renews.
Prices are shown in the app and the App Store before you confirm. If you cancel the trial at least 24 hours before it ends, you are not charged.
Auto-renewing subscriptions
Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase (or when the free trial ends). A subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
Manage or cancel your subscription in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and Pro keeps working until then. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
You can restore purchases for free on devices using the same Apple ID, from Hearnote’s Settings.
Refunds
All purchases go through the App Store, so refunds are decided by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your content and recording others
The recordings and notes you make are yours. Hearnote claims no rights to them and never receives them.
You are responsible for following the recording laws where you live, including getting the consent of the people you record when the law requires it.
Accuracy
Transcripts, speaker labels, summaries, answers and translations are generated by machine and can be wrong — especially with noisy audio, overlapping speakers or unusual terms. Check them against the recording before relying on them for anything important (legal, medical, financial).
Features that use Apple Intelligence are available only on the devices and languages Apple supports.
Backups
Your data exists only on your device. Backing it up is your responsibility; export important recordings or keep iPhone backups on.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Hearnote is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, my liability is limited to the amount you paid for Hearnote in the previous 12 months. This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Changes
These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without affecting the consumer rights of the country you live in.
